06:35 pm: Spicy Peanut Noodle Soup
There's a restaurant in my home town called Spicy Noodle House. They have really good food, but their spicy peanut noodle soup is the main attraction. Unfortunately, I don't live 3 minutes away from Spicy Noodle House anymore so I decided to try to make my own spicy peanut noodle soup at home. Here's a very general guide, more so than a recipe

- 3 tbs of oil (coconut oil adds a nice flavour)

- 4 cloves of garlic, minced

- 5 sprigs green onions, plus some for garnish

- pork chops (optional)

- at least 4 tbs of peanut butter

- 2 bouillon cubes

- 2 tbs of paprika

- 2 tbs of chili powder

- 4 shots of super hot hot sauce ( I used Matouk’s scotch bonnet pepper sauce)

- Montreal steak spice, always, in everything

- 5ish cups of water

- Noodles (I used Soba but usually I use instant egg noodles)

1)      Heat oil in pan

2)      Throw in garlic, green onions, paprika and chili spice

3)      Put pork chops on top of spices in pan then sprinkle with Montreal Steak Spice

4)      When pork chops are cooked, slice them up into strips or cubes

5)      Add water and bouillon cubes

6)      When water is really hot but not boiling, put in the peanut butter and hot sauce

7)      Boil uncovered for a while.

8)      Add noodles about 3 minutes before you want to eat

9)      Shove that shit in your face!

10:55 pm: Tip # 4: Questionable Food
Don't just not eat something because you *think* it's gone bad. Make sure you *know* it's spoiled. Worse case scenario: you get the shits. You still had a meal and you were gonna have to pee/poo eventually anyway!

12:01 pm: Tip #2: be a friend to the marginalised
"Mr. Justice James MacPherson and Madame Justice Eleanore Cronk took sharp issue with the majority on the point, arguing that the communication provision significantly worsens the plight of street prostitutes.

“The violence faced by street prostitutes across Canada is, in a word, overwhelming,” they said. “One does not need to conjure up the face of Robert Pickton to know that this is true.”

06:04 am: Tip # 1: Show the love
I just wrote a message (email) to my favourite prof of my undergrad years, essentially thanking her for being awesome. I feel that people – especially those in the caring fields (nurses, community organiser, orderlies, social workers, teachers, activists) – don't get to actually hear how much of an impact their actions have on others or that their work is recognised and appreciated. So Tip #1 on this inaugural blog post is send a letter/email or make a phone call to someone who has made or is currently making an impact on your life. Even if it’s your kindergarten teacher or high school basketball coach and they might not remember you, they’ll definitely appreciate the fact that someone took notice and remembered them. Send your friend a card or letter (preferably in the mail). I sent my bff a sappy letter for his bday (we now live in different cities) and even *I* felt better after sending it, reminiscing about the good times and shit. Anyways, just do it. It takes like 5 minutes and with the POWER OF THE INTERNET (!!!) you can find pretty much anyone.
